“You never get a second chance to make a first impression”…truer words have never been spoken especially as it relates to a home. For this custom project, it was important that the property had significant curb appeal and unique from its neighboring homes given its design was very different than the other homes in the community. The property embodies a transitional design inside and out - shades of grey complimented with light and dark accents. When selecting the exterior materials, going with a grey stucco with black trim was an obvious choice - the grey stucco adding warmth to the exterior and the dark trim, accents and roof beautifully tied in with the overall design and curb appeal we were looking to create. This home was built for a young family with an active lifestyle, so accessibility was very important in designing the driveway. Rather than a standard driveway, we opted to take a more artistic approach by designing a patterned, concrete, circular driveway with turf joints. Given the driveway was sloped to the curb, building the concrete frame required tremendous precision to prevent cracking or chipping over time. The turf joints add both color and sophistication - complimenting the elevation perfectly. Since cars would be parking on the circular driveway, the addition of the mature live oak tree provides a canopy of shade for vehicles during the hot summer months. For a finish touch, extensive lighting was installed through the facade, driveway and landscaping to ensure the home would have that beautiful curb appeal - day or night.
